Eligibility at a glance

Candidates must have passed Matriculation or an equivalent examination by 1 August 2025. The normal age band is 18 to 25 years for MTS, while Havaldar and a few MTS posts use 18 to 27 years, both measured on 1 August 2025.

Post-wise age limit

  • MTS18 to 25 years as on 1 August 2025; DOB 2 August 2000 to 1 August 2007 inclusive
  • Havaldar and specified MTS posts18 to 27 years as on 1 August 2025; DOB 2 August 1998 to 1 August 2007 inclusive

Upper-age relaxation

  • SC / ST5 years
  • OBC3 years
  • PwBD (UR / EWS)10 years
  • PwBD (OBC)13 years
  • PwBD (SC / ST)15 years
  • Ex-servicemen3 years after deducting military service from actual age
  • Defence personnel disabled in operations3 years; 8 years for SC / ST
  • Central Government civilian employees with the prescribed serviceUp to 40 years; up to 45 years for SC / ST
  • Widows / divorced / judicially separated women not remarriedUp to 35 years; up to 40 years for SC / ST

Educational qualification

Candidates must have passed the Matriculation Examination or equivalent from a recognised Board on or before 1 August 2025.

Nationality

Eligible categories include citizens of India, subjects of Nepal or Bhutan, and specified persons of Indian origin who migrated from the countries listed in the notice with the intention of permanently settling in India. Candidates in the non-Indian-citizen categories require a Government of India eligibility certificate.
