SSC CPO Syllabus 2025: Paper 1
SSC publishes an indicative syllabus for Paper 1 in the 2025 recruitment notice. Paper 1 has four separately timed sections with 50 questions and 50 marks each, giving a total of 200 questions for 200 marks in 2 hours.
General Intelligence and Reasoning
50 questions, 50 marks, 30 minutes- • Semantic, symbolic, number and figural analogies and classification
- • Semantic, number and figural series
- • Coding and decoding, word building, numerical operations and symbolic operations
- • Problem solving, analysis, judgment and decision making
- • Spatial orientation and visualization, visual memory, discrimination and observation
- • Relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, Venn diagrams and drawing inferences
- • Punched-hole and pattern folding or unfolding, embedded figures and figural pattern work
- • Address, date and city matching, indexing, centre-code and roll-number classification
- • Critical thinking, emotional intelligence and social intelligence
General Knowledge and General Awareness
50 questions, 50 marks, 30 minutes- • General awareness of the environment and its application to society
- • Current events
- • Everyday observations and experience in their scientific aspect
- • India and neighbouring countries: history, culture, geography and economic scene
- • General polity and the Indian Constitution
- • Scientific research
Quantitative Aptitude
50 questions, 50 marks, 30 minutes- • Whole numbers, decimals, fractions and relationships between numbers
- • Percentage, ratio and proportion, square roots and averages
- • Interest, profit and loss, discount, partnership business, mixture and alligation
- • Time and distance, time and work
- • Basic algebraic identities, elementary surds and graphs of linear equations
- • Triangles, circles, quadrilaterals, regular polygons, congruence and similarity
- • Prism, cone, cylinder, sphere, hemisphere, rectangular parallelepiped and pyramids
- • Trigonometric ratios, degrees and radians, standard identities, complementary angles, heights and distances
- • Histogram, frequency polygon, bar diagram and pie chart
English Comprehension
50 questions, 50 marks, 30 minutes- • Understanding correct English
- • Basic comprehension
- • Writing ability
Paper 2 comes later
