The standard SSC CPO 2025 age limit is 20 to 25 years as on August 1, 2025. Eligible candidates must have been born from August 2, 2000 through August 1, 2005.

Nationality
A candidate must be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal or a subject of Bhutan. Candidates who are subjects of Nepal or Bhutan require a Government of India certificate of eligibility before an appointment offer can be made.

Qualification and post-specific conditions
Bachelor degree requirement
A bachelor's degree from a recognized university or equivalent is required for all posts. Candidates awaiting a result could apply only if the qualifying result was declared and the qualification was possessed by October 16, 2025.
Delhi Police SI, male candidates
Male candidates need a valid driving licence for LMV, covering Motorcycle and Car, on the date fixed for the Physical Endurance and Measurement Tests to remain eligible for Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police. Without it, they remain eligible only for SI posts in CAPFs, subject to other conditions.
Matriculate Ex-Servicemen route
A Matriculate Ex-Serviceman with at least 15 years of Armed Forces service by the closing date can be considered only for Group C SI in Delhi Police posts reserved for Ex-Servicemen, subject to the notice conditions.

Frequently asked questions
Does meeting the SSC CPO eligibility mean my application is confirmed?
No. Eligibility is self-declared when you apply, and the conducting body accepts the application provisionally on the strength of that declaration. It is verified later, at document verification, against original certificates. A candidate who clears every stage and cannot produce proof of age, category or qualification at that point is rejected then, with the whole cycle spent. Check each condition against your own documents before you apply rather than after.
What is the SSC CPO exam pattern?
The Paper 1 stage is 200 questions for 200 marks in 120 minutes. Wrong answers are penalised 0.25 per question. Eligibility decides whether you can sit it; the pattern decides what sitting it involves, and the two are worth reading together before you commit to a cycle.
Can I start preparing for SSC CPO before the notification is out?
Yes, and it is the better time to start. Eligibility conditions and the examination scheme are usually stable between cycles, so the paper you will sit is close to the one already published, and the months before a notification are the only ones not spent on the application itself.
