SSC CPO Selection Process 2025

Staff Selection Commission: Central Police Organisation (Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and CAPFs)

How selection works

SSC CPO 2025 has Paper 1, a qualifying PST and PET stage, Paper 2, medical examination and document verification. There is no interview in the notified selection sequence.

Stage-by-stage process

  1. Paper 1: merit-bearing computer-based examination

Paper 1 has 200 objective questions for 200 marks in 2 hours, with four separately timed 30-minute parts. Each wrong answer deducts 0.25 marks. Minimum qualifying marks, before NCC bonus, are 30% for UR, 25% for OBC and EWS, and 20% for all other categories. Paper 1 performance, including applicable NCC bonus, is used to shortlist candidates for PST and PET and also contributes to final merit.

  2. Physical Standard Test and Physical Endurance Test

PST and PET are mandatory and qualifying in nature, so they do not add marks to final merit. Ex-Servicemen are not required to undergo PET. Only candidates who qualify the physical stage proceed to Paper 2.

  3. Paper 2: English Language and Comprehension

Paper 2 is an objective English Language and Comprehension examination with 200 questions for 200 marks in 2 hours. Wrong answers carry a 0.25-mark penalty. Paper 1 and Paper 2 performance, including applicable NCC bonus, is used to shortlist candidates for medical examination.

  4. DME or RME and Document Verification

The Detailed Medical Examination, and Review Medical Examination where applicable, is mandatory but qualifying. Document Verification is conducted by the CAPFs before the final result, preferably along with the DME or RME stage, and candidates must produce the required original eligibility and category documents.

  5. Final merit and Post or Force allocation

Only candidates who qualify the medical and Document Verification stages are considered for final selection. SSC makes final selection and allocation from Paper 1 and Paper 2 performance, including applicable NCC bonus, together with the candidate's submitted Post or Force preferences.
