Staff Selection Commission: Constable (GD) in CAPFs, SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles
How selection works
The recruitment moves from the Computer Based Examination to PET/PST, then Detailed Medical Examination, Review Medical Examination where applicable, and Document Verification. Final selection and force allocation are based on CBE merit, including NCC bonus marks where applicable, plus force preferences, subject to qualifying the later stages.
Stage-by-stage process
Computer Based Examination
Candidates first take the 160-mark CBE. SSC uses normalized CBE marks and applicable NCC bonus marks to shortlist candidates for the physical stage.
Physical Efficiency Test and Physical Standard Test
Candidates shortlisted from the CBE undergo PET and PST conducted by the CAPFs. These are qualifying requirements for continuing in the selection process.
Detailed Medical Examination / Review Medical Examination and Document Verification
Candidates who clear PET/PST are shortlisted for DME and DV. Review Medical Examination may follow where applicable. The CAPFs verify original eligibility and category documents alongside the medical stage.
Final merit and force allocation
Candidates who qualify the required physical, medical and document stages are considered for final merit. Force allocation uses CBE merit, including NCC bonus where applicable, together with the force preferences submitted in the application.
