Eligibility at a glance

Candidates must be 18 to 23 years old as on 1 January 2026, must be citizens of India, and must have passed Matriculation or Class 10 by 1 January 2026.

For the unrelaxed age band, candidates must have been born from 2 January 2003 to 1 January 2008, inclusive.

Upper-age relaxation

  • SC / ST5 years
  • OBC3 years
  • Ex-servicemen3 years after deducting military service from actual age as on the reckoning date
  • Children / dependents of victims killed in the 1984 riots, UR / EWS5 years
  • Children / dependents of victims killed in the 1984 riots, OBC8 years
  • Children / dependents of victims killed in the 1984 riots, SC / ST10 years

Educational qualification

Candidates must have passed the Matriculation or 10th Class Examination from a recognised Board or University on or before 1 January 2026.

Nationality and domicile

A candidate must be a citizen of India. Because most CAPF and Assam Rifles vacancies are filled State/UT/area-wise, candidates must submit the required domicile certificate or Permanent Resident Certificate for the State or UT claimed in the application.
