Manipal Entrance Test 2026: B.Tech
English is a sixth of this engineering paper. Ten questions carry 40 of the 240 marks, more than most B.Tech entrances give language at all, and a candidate revising PCM alone leaves those 40 untouched. Every question is worth the same 4 marks whatever section it sits in, so a question of English pays exactly what a question of Mathematics pays. Mathematics is still the largest block at 20 questions and 80 marks, with Physics and Chemistry at 15 and 60 each. Two minutes a question across 60 questions is generous for this level.

MET 2026 B.Tech has 45 Multiple Choice Questions and 15 Numerical Answer Type questions. Each correct MCQ earns 4 marks and each incorrect MCQ deducts 1 mark; each correct Numerical Answer Type question earns 4 marks with no deduction for a wrong or unanswered entry. English carries only MCQs. Sectional and mixed quick-practice tests use TakeMockTest-defined durations for focused practice, not an official MET sectional format.

That works out to about 120 seconds per question on average, before any time spent reading instructions or revisiting marked answers. The 4 sections are Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English. Mathematics carries the most, 80 marks of the 240 or about 33%, against 40 marks for English. All sections share one composite timer, so you are free to move between them and spend your time where it earns most.

- Each correct answer is worth 4 marks.
- Worked example: attempt 48 of the 60 questions and get 36 right and 12 wrong, and you score 144 out of 240.
