How many correct answers do I need for a Band 7 in IELTS Academic Reading?
Roughly 30 to 32 correct answers out of 40, based on the published IELTS Academic Reading conversion table. The exact cutoff can shift slightly between test versions, but this range stays stable across cycles.
Is there negative marking in IELTS Reading?
No. Each correct answer scores 1 mark, with no deduction for a wrong or unattempted question. Your raw score out of 40 is then converted to a band score from 1 to 9.
Does this mock use the same question formats as the real IELTS Reading test?
Not entirely. Every question here is multiple-choice, so it can be scored instantly. The official test also uses formats such as matching and sentence completion for the same reading skills, which are not reproduced in this practice interface.
