Candidates must be born on or after 1 July 2004. For the PCM stream, a minimum aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics is required, with not less than 50% in Mathematics; the PCB stream needs the same 60% aggregate with Biology in place of Mathematics and at least 50% in Biology. SC/ST candidates and applicants from a few northeastern states need a 50% aggregate instead of 60%.
