UPPSC PCS Prelims: General Studies Paper II (CSAT)
The UPPSC PCS exam pattern below is checked stage by stage, so one stage cannot inherit another stage's scoring rules.
Prelims General Studies II (CSAT)
Review pendingUPPSC sets two preliminary papers on the same day. This site covers the second one, General Studies Paper II, the CSAT paper: 100 objective questions for 200 marks in two hours, four options each, 2 marks for a correct answer and one third of that, about 0.67 marks, deducted for a wrong one. Paper II is qualifying only. A candidate must score at least 33 per cent on it to have Paper I evaluated, and its marks are not added to the merit used for shortlisting, so the practical goal here is clearing the bar rather than maximising the score. The syllabus is comprehension, interpersonal and communication skills, logical reasoning and analytical ability, decision making and problem solving, general mental ability, and Class X elementary mathematics, general English and general Hindi. The Hindi-language questions in this mock are set in Hindi, as they are in the real paper, and are not translated. General Studies Paper I is deliberately not built here: it is current events, history, geography, polity and economy, the fact-recall content this site does not self-author. The pattern is marked review-pending rather than official because the commission publishes the papers themselves rather than a scheme table, so the question count, marks and marking scheme above rest on the current paper surface plus consistent secondary corroboration rather than a directly read official pattern document.
