Telangana Law Common Entrance Test
The largest section is really two sections. Aptitude for the Study of Law carries 60 of the 120 questions, and the official structure fixes 10 of those 60 as comprehension of legal passages rather than standalone principles, so a single heading covers 50 questions of one kind and 10 of another. The remaining half is General Knowledge and Mental Ability and Current Affairs at 30 apiece. The official 2026 instruction booklet confirms that no mark is deducted for a wrong answer. TG PGLCET, for LL.M. admission, is a separate paper and is not this one.

That works out to about 45 seconds per question on average, before any time spent reading instructions or revisiting marked answers. The 3 sections are General Knowledge and Mental Ability, Current Affairs and Aptitude for the Study of Law. Aptitude for the Study of Law carries the most, 60 marks of the 120 or about 50%, against 30 marks for Current Affairs. All sections share one composite timer, so you are free to move between them and spend your time where it earns most.
TG LAWCET 5-Year LL.B. marking scheme
- Each correct answer is worth 1 mark.
- There is no negative marking, so leaving a question blank can only cost you: an unattempted question and a wrong one score the same zero. Attempt everything.
- Worked example: attempt 96 of the 120 questions and get 72 right and 24 wrong, and you score 72 out of 120.
