Is there a separate timer for each Paper 1 section?
Yes. Each of the four sections — General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge and General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension — has its own separately timed 30-minute window. You cannot shift unused time from one section to another.
What comes after Paper 1 in the selection process?
Candidates who clear Paper 1 proceed to a Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Endurance Test (PET), followed by Paper 2 (English Language and Comprehension) and a Detailed Medical Examination (DME).
Is there negative marking?
Yes. A correct answer earns 1 mark, and a wrong answer deducts one-quarter (0.25) of a mark. Unattempted questions score zero.
