SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination 2026: PCM / Mathematics Route
Twenty of these questions are English and Aptitude, and a candidate revising PCM alone leaves every one of them untouched. Physics and Chemistry take 35 each and Mathematics 40, so the non-science block is a sixth of the paper and the cheapest sixth to collect. Nothing is deducted for a wrong answer, and 150 minutes across 130 questions gives 69 seconds each. This is the PCM route; SRMJEEE also offers a Biology alternative for the fourth subject, which is not covered here, and the exam is delivered remote-proctored online.

This is the PCM / Mathematics route (SRMJEEE also offers a Mathematics/Biology alternative for the fourth subject; that Biology route is not covered here). Each correct answer earns 1 mark and there is no negative marking for a wrong answer; an unanswered question scores zero. SRMJEEE 2026 is delivered as a Remote Proctored Online Mode examination. The official syllabus names the fourth section English & Aptitude as one combined section without a published subtopic split, so granular topic labels used in these tests are a TakeMockTest preparation map, not an official SRM subtopic list. Sectional and mixed quick-practice tests use TakeMockTest-defined durations for focused practice, not an official SRMJEEE sectional format.

That works out to about 69 seconds per question on average, before any time spent reading instructions or revisiting marked answers. The 4 sections are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English & Aptitude. Mathematics carries the most, 40 marks of the 130 or about 31%, against 20 marks for English & Aptitude. All sections share one composite timer, so you are free to move between them and spend your time where it earns most.
SRMJEEE PCM / Mathematics Route marking scheme
- Each correct answer is worth 1 mark.
- There is no negative marking, so leaving a question blank can only cost you: an unattempted question and a wrong one score the same zero. Attempt everything.
- Worked example: attempt 104 of the 130 questions and get 78 right and 26 wrong, and you score 78 out of 130.
