OPSC Odisha Civil Services: General Studies Paper II (CSAT)
The OPSC OCS exam pattern below is checked stage by stage, so one stage cannot inherit another stage's scoring rules.
Prelims General Studies II (CSAT)
Review pendingThe Odisha Civil Services preliminary examination has two papers. This site covers General Studies Paper II, the CSAT paper: 200 marks in two hours, objective, four alternatives per question, with one third of the marks for a question deducted for a wrong answer. On the current cycle's actual paper that works out to 80 questions of 2.5 marks each, which is the split used here. Paper II is qualifying at 33 per cent and its marks do not count towards the merit used for shortlisting. The syllabus is comprehension, interpersonal skills, logical reasoning and analytical ability, decision making and problem solving, general mental ability, and Class X basic numeracy and data interpretation. General Studies Paper I is not built here: it is current events and general fact recall, which this site does not self-author, and volatile current-affairs content is excluded from this paper too. The pattern is marked review-pending rather than official for two reasons. The marks, duration and marking rule come from the OCS 2025 rules read through a document mirror rather than from the commission's own file, and the 80-question count is corroborated from the current cycle's actual paper rather than stated in the rules at all.
