Odisha Joint Entrance Examination
One hour for 60 questions and two hours for 120: the two stages here run at the same pace but are not the same exam, and they are not for the same candidate. One is a vacant-seat route: Odisha fills first-year B.Tech places on JEE Main, and the 2nd/Special paper only ranks candidates for whatever is left afterwards. The other, LE-Tech, admits Diploma holders straight into the second year, and its three subjects are engineering coursework rather than school science. The marking is 4 up against 1 off in both, so the attempt threshold is one in five either way. Confirm which route your application names before reading either table as yours.

Regular first-year Odisha B.Tech admission uses JEE Main 2026, not the main OJEE examination. This stage covers the later 2nd/Special OJEE 2026 B.Tech entrance, used only to prepare a merit list for vacant B.Tech seats remaining after JEE Main / first-round counselling. All 3 sections carry 80 marks each, so none of them repays disproportionate preparation and a weakness anywhere costs the same. All sections share one composite timer, so you are free to move between them and spend your time where it earns most.
2nd/Special OJEE 2026 B.Tech marking scheme
- Each correct answer is worth 4 marks.
- A wrong answer deducts 1 mark; an unattempted question scores zero.
- A guess therefore breaks even at 20% accuracy: above that it gains you marks on average, below it loses them. A blind guess between four options is right 25% of the time, which is already above that line, so an educated guess is worth making rather than leaving the question blank.
- Worked example: attempt 48 of the 60 questions and get 36 right and 12 wrong, and you score 132 out of 240.
