Timing: The official 2026 handout publishes 30/30/30/20/10 per-section time allocations, but that table alone does not establish locked sectional navigation or forced auto-submit, so this mock uses a single unrestricted 120-minute timer across all sections.

The current NMIMS-CET 2026 handout confirms a computer-based test with five sections (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, Logical Intelligence, Verbal Reasoning), 120 questions, 120 marks, 120 minutes, four-option single-correct MCQs, +1 per correct answer, and no negative marking. This PCM stage uses the Mathematics track (Biology 0) and does not imply every NMIMS-CET candidate takes Mathematics.

The NMIMS-CET B.Tech PCM exam pattern is 120 questions carrying 120 marks, to be answered in 120 minutes. That works out to about 60 seconds per question on average, before any time spent reading instructions or revisiting marked answers. The 5 sections are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Logical Intelligence and Verbal Reasoning. Physics carries the most, 30 marks of the 120 or about 25%, against 10 marks for Verbal Reasoning. All 5 sections are separately timed, so time saved in one cannot be carried into another. You cannot bank minutes by rushing an easy section.

NMIMS-CET B.Tech PCM marking scheme

  • Each correct answer is worth 1 mark.
  • There is no negative marking, so leaving a question blank can only cost you: an unattempted question and a wrong one score the same zero. Attempt everything.
  • Worked example: attempt 96 of the 120 questions and get 72 right and 24 wrong, and you score 72 out of 120.

Practising against the same clock is the point of a mock test: at 60 seconds a question, the difference between a good score and an average one is usually pacing rather than knowledge. Attempt a free NMIMS-CET mock test to see where your time actually goes.
