NIPER Joint Entrance Examination 2026: Master's Programme
Each question is worth half a mark, which is how 200 questions make 100. Section B, mainly the B.Pharm. syllabus, carries 120 of those questions and 60 of the marks, against 80 questions and 40 marks for Section A on general English, aptitude, reasoning and general knowledge. The deduction is 0.125, a quarter of what a correct answer pays, so break-even sits at one in five. One hundred and fifty minutes across 200 questions is 45 seconds each, fast for a postgraduate paper and enough to make recall rather than derivation the thing that pays.

NIPER JEE 2026 Master's Programme is the common CBT for M.S.(Pharm.), M.Pharm., M.Tech.(Pharm.) and MBA(Pharm.) admission across the National Institutes of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, 200 questions for 100 marks in 150 minutes, +0.5 correct and -0.125 wrong. Section A covers General English, Aptitude, Reasoning and General Knowledge as the official brochure states; Section B is mainly B.Pharm. syllabus. The Ph.D. paper and post-CBT GD/PI/counselling stages are separate processes and not part of this mock.

That works out to about 45 seconds per question on average, before any time spent reading instructions or revisiting marked answers. The 2 sections are Section A (General English, Aptitude, Reasoning, General Knowledge, etc.) and Section B (mainly B.Pharm. syllabus). Section B (mainly B.Pharm. syllabus) carries the most, 60 marks of the 100 or about 60%, against 40 marks for Section A (General English, Aptitude, Reasoning, General Knowledge, etc.). All sections share one composite timer, so you are free to move between them and spend your time where it earns most.
NIPER JEE Master's Programme marking scheme
- Each correct answer is worth 0.5 marks.
- A wrong answer deducts 0.125 marks; an unattempted question scores zero.
- A guess therefore breaks even at 20% accuracy: above that it gains you marks on average, below it loses them. A blind guess between four options is right 25% of the time, which is already above that line, so an educated guess is worth making rather than leaving the question blank.
- Worked example: attempt 160 of the 200 questions and get 120 right and 40 wrong, and you score 55 out of 100.
