INI-CET Exam Pattern
Institutes of National Importance Combined Entrance Test 2026
The INI-CET exam pattern below is checked stage by stage, so one stage cannot inherit another stage's scoring rules.
INI-CET 2026 Computer-Based Test
Review pendingINI-CET is conducted by AIIMS New Delhi for postgraduate admission to the Institutes of National Importance, including AIIMS, PGIMER, JIPMER, NIMHANS and SCTIMST, and is held twice a year. It is a computer-based test of 200 multiple-choice questions carrying 1 mark each over 180 minutes, with one third of a mark deducted for an incorrect answer and zero for an unattempted one. The official paper is administered in four time-bound parts of 50 questions with 45 minutes each, and a part closes when its time expires. That lock is not reproduced here because AIIMS does not publish which subjects fall in which part, so any grouping this platform imposed would be invented; the mock runs a single unrestricted 180-minute timer instead. There is likewise no published subject-wise weightage, so the spread across the nineteen MBBS subjects is a TakeMockTest editorial balance rather than an official one. Difficulty is graded relative to this exam's own candidates, who are MBBS graduates, so a named association or definition they are expected to know cold is marked medium and hard is reserved for case-based and management questions; on that basis this bank is 27 per cent hard, against 11 per cent for the NEET PG bank and 6 per cent for FMGE, which reflects INI-CET being the most demanding of the three. Questions are written to stable, curriculum-level material from standard undergraduate textbooks, avoiding drug dosing and guideline specifics that change between editions, and are examination practice rather than clinical guidance. The pattern is marked review-pending because aiimsexams.ac.in cannot be reached from the environment that maintains this catalogue, so the counts, timing and marking above rest on consistent secondary-source corroboration rather than a directly read prospectus.
