ICAR All India Entrance Examination for Admission (PG) 2026
Your subject group is chosen at application and it fixes the paper you sit. The pattern on this page is Major Subject Group 05, Agronomy, sub-subject 5.1: 120 questions for 480 marks in two hours, with 4 marks for a correct answer and 1 deducted for a wrong one. Other ICAR postgraduate major subject groups sit their own papers, and the AICE JRF/SRF doctoral examination is different again. ICAR AIEEA (PG) is the NTA-conducted entrance test for postgraduate admission to agricultural universities across several major subject groups. This launch covers the Agronomy subject (Major Subject Group 05, Sub-subject 5.1) only: 120 questions for 480 marks in 2 hours, +4 correct and -1 wrong. Other ICAR PG major subject groups and the separate ICAR AICE JRF/SRF Ph.D. exam are not part of this mock.

ICAR AIEEA PG Agronomy marking scheme
- Each correct answer is worth 4 marks.
- A wrong answer deducts 1 mark; an unattempted question scores zero.
- A guess therefore breaks even at 20% accuracy: above that it gains you marks on average, below it loses them. A blind guess between four options is right 25% of the time, which is already above that line, so an educated guess is worth making rather than leaving the question blank.
- Worked example: attempt 96 of the 120 questions and get 72 right and 24 wrong, and you score 264 out of 480.
