IBPS SO exam pattern
Prelims
Official CRP SPL-XV patternEnglish Language · Reasoning · Quantitative Aptitude. Negative marking: 0.25 per wrong answer. Each of the three sections has its own separately timed 40-minute window: sectional lock, no shifting unused time between sections. English Language questions carry 0.5 marks each (25 marks across 50 questions); Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude questions carry 1 mark each..
This mock covers the Prelims pattern shared by the IT Officer, Agriculture Field Officer, HR/Personnel Officer, and Marketing Officer (Scale I) posts. The Law Officer and Rajbhasha Adhikari track substitutes General Awareness for Quantitative Aptitude instead. Candidates must qualify each of the three separately timed sections; Prelims marks are not carried forward to the final merit list. Shortlisted candidates appear for the Main Examination, which tests post-specific Professional Knowledge (60 questions/60 marks/45 minutes) instead of these general sections.

Official review pendingCurrent secondary sources consistently confirm that the Main Examination (for the IT Officer, Agriculture Field Officer, HR/Personnel Officer, and Marketing Officer posts) tests English Language, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and post-specific Professional Knowledge as objective sections, plus a separate non-objective Descriptive paper, but disagree with each other on the exact question count and marks weighting for Professional Knowledge (25 questions/50 marks in some sources, 50 questions/100 marks in others) and on the total objective question count (100 in some sources, 150 in others). Status is marked review-pending for that reason. This site's content covers the IT Officer, Agriculture Field Officer, HR/Personnel Officer, and Marketing Officer specializations' Professional Knowledge, alongside the shared English Language, Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude sections, at a flat 1 mark per correct answer as a platform-defined scheme, since the official differential marks weighting is not independently confirmed; the Law Officer/Rajbhasha Adhikari track (which substitutes General Awareness for Quantitative Aptitude) is not covered. The separately timed, non-objective Descriptive paper is excluded, since it cannot be auto-graded as multiple-choice.
Frequently asked questions
How many IBPS SO mock tests are available here?
This page currently has 26 syllabus-checked tests for IBPS SO: 10 full-length mocks, and 16 sectional tests.
Are these IBPS SO tests based on the official pattern?
Yes. Each checked test's question count, marks, duration, and negative marking match the official pattern shown above, with its source and checked date linked.
How long does a IBPS SO mock test take?
A full-length IBPS SO mock here runs 80 to 120 minutes, matching the official working time for the paper it reproduces. The timer starts when you begin and the test submits itself when time runs out, so it is worth starting one only when you can sit it through. The shorter tests on this page run from 20 minutes, for when you do not have a full sitting free.
Do these IBPS SO mock tests have negative marking?
Yes. Every IBPS SO test here deducts 0.25 marks for a wrong answer and scores an unanswered question zero, the same as the official scheme it is checked against. Your result breaks out what the deduction cost you, so you can see whether guessing helped or hurt.
Should I start with a full-length IBPS SO mock or a sectional test?
Start with a full-length mock if you have not sat the whole IBPS SO paper under its official timer before: it is the only thing here that tells you whether you can finish in time. Move to the 16 sectional tests once the full mock has shown you which section is costing you marks, and use them to rebuild that one section rather than re-sitting the whole paper each time.
Are these IBPS SO mock tests free?
Yes. All 26 IBPS SO tests on this page are free to attempt, with no account and no paid tier holding back better questions.
