FRM Mock Test 2026

A free FRM Part I practice series for the Quantitative Analysis topic area, covering Probability and Distributions and Regression and Estimation, 10 questions each in a 48-minute set. Every FRM online test here is free to attempt and scores instantly.

Quantitative Analysis is roughly a fifth of Part I, so treat this as one topic area rather than a rehearsal of the exam. The official Part I is 100 equally weighted four-option questions in four hours across four areas: Foundations of Risk Management, Quantitative Analysis, Financial Markets and Products, and Valuation and Risk Models. Equal weighting is the useful part, because it means no area can be safely neglected and the marginal hour belongs wherever you are weakest rather than wherever you are most interested. Nothing is deducted for a wrong answer, so on the day nothing should be left blank.

FRM exam pattern

Part I: Quantitative Analysis

Official 2026 pattern
Questions: 20
Marks: 20
Duration: 48 minutes

Probability and Distributions · Regression and Estimation. Negative marking: 0 per wrong answer. Single composite 48-minute timer for both topic areas combined: no sectional lock.

The official FRM Part I exam has 100 equally weighted, 4-option multiple-choice questions in 4 hours, across four topic areas: Foundations of Risk Management, Quantitative Analysis, Financial Markets and Products, and Valuation and Risk Models. Quantitative Analysis carries roughly 20% weight, about 20 of the 100 questions. This mock covers only Quantitative Analysis, the one Part I topic area built entirely from probability, statistics, and regression, so every answer is independently checkable by calculation. The other three Part I topic areas, and every Part II topic area (Market Risk, Credit Risk, Operational Risk, Liquidity and Treasury Risk, Risk Management and Investment Management, and Current Issues in Financial Markets), require accurate recall of risk-management methodology, regulatory frameworks, and market practice, which this site is intentionally reserving for its standard content-review process rather than self-authoring. This mock matches Quantitative Analysis's approximate official question share (20 questions) with a proportional 48-minute duration estimate, since the topic areas are not timed separately in the official exam. There is no negative marking. This mock shows a raw score; the official exam reports only a pass/fail result with quartile-based topic feedback, not a numeric score.

Frequently asked questions

How many FRM mock tests are available here?

This page currently has 6 syllabus-checked tests for FRM: 2 full-length mocks, and 4 sectional tests.

Are these FRM tests based on the official pattern?

Yes. Every checked FRM test matches the official pattern's question count, marks, duration and negative marking, and the source document is linked with the date it was last read. For the paper, that is 20 questions for 20 marks in 48 minutes.

How long does a FRM mock test take?

A full-length FRM mock here runs 48 minutes, matching the official working time for the paper it reproduces. The timer starts when you begin and the test submits itself when time runs out, so it is worth starting one only when you can sit it through. The shorter tests on this page run from 24 minutes, for when you do not have a full sitting free.

Do these FRM mock tests have negative marking?

No. FRM carries no penalty for a wrong answer, so every test here scores a wrong answer and an unanswered one the same way, at zero. There is no reason to leave a question blank.

Should I start with a full-length FRM mock or a sectional test?

Start with a full-length mock if you have not sat the whole FRM paper under its official timer before: it is the only thing here that tells you whether you can finish in time. Move to the 4 sectional tests once the full mock has shown you which section is costing you marks, and use them to rebuild that one section rather than re-sitting the whole paper each time.

Are these FRM mock tests free?

Yes. All 6 FRM tests on this page are free to attempt, with no account and no paid tier holding back better questions.
