CSIR UGC NET: Part A aptitude rules unchanged for June 2026

Added Source checked

NTA keeps Part A at 20 questions shown with at most 15 attempted, 2 marks for a correct answer and 0.5 deducted for a wrong one, four choices per question. Part A has no timer of its own.

What students should do

  1. Plan Part A around 15 attempts, not 20. Attempting more than 15 gains nothing.
  2. Budget your own time for Part A. The single 180-minute limit covers Parts A, B and C together, so time spent here is taken from your subject sections.
