Common University Entrance Test (UG) 2026
Each question is worth 5 marks, which is how 50 questions make 250. CUET UG is a large multi-subject examination and this page covers two of its papers, the General Aptitude Test and English under subject code 101; a candidate sitting domain papers will find none of that syllabus here. Sixty minutes across 50 questions gives 72 seconds each. With 5 marks up and 1 deducted, break-even sits at one in six, more forgiving than most entrances and enough to make a narrowed guess clearly worth taking.

The CUET UG 2026 General Aptitude Test exam pattern is 50 questions carrying 250 marks, to be answered in 60 minutes. That works out to about 72 seconds per question on average, before any time spent reading instructions or revisiting marked answers. It is a single General Aptitude Test paper.
CUET UG 2026 General Aptitude Test marking scheme
- Each correct answer is worth 5 marks.
- A wrong answer deducts 1 mark; an unattempted question scores zero.
- A guess therefore breaks even at 16.7% accuracy: above that it gains you marks on average, below it loses them. A blind guess between four options is right 25% of the time, which is already above that line, so an educated guess is worth making rather than leaving the question blank.
- Worked example: attempt 40 of the 50 questions and get 30 right and 10 wrong, and you score 140 out of 250.
