CMAT exam pattern
Quantitative Techniques and DI, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension
Official 2026 patternQuantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation · Logical Reasoning · Language Comprehension. Negative marking: 1 per wrong answer. Single composite 108-minute timer for all three sections combined: no sectional lock, matching the official test's own no-sectional-time-limit rule.
The official CMAT (conducted by NTA) has 100 questions for 400 marks in 180 minutes, 4 marks per correct answer and -1 for a wrong one, with no sectional time limit, across five equal 20-question sections: Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, General Awareness, and Innovation and Entrepreneurship. This mock covers the three reasoning- and language-based sections in full official proportion: 60 questions (20 Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation, 20 Logical Reasoning, 20 Language Comprehension), with the same single composite timer and no sectional lock, and the same +4/-1 marking scheme. General Awareness is not covered, since it depends on facts that carry higher correctness risk for self-authored content. Innovation and Entrepreneurship is also not covered: its official syllabus tests definitional and conceptual business-terminology recall (for example, the difference between incremental and disruptive innovation, or terms like MVP and Lean Startup) rather than reasoning applied to a stated scenario, the same content-risk boundary that excluded CA Foundation and CMA Foundation's management and business-law papers.
