Decision Making is XAT's signature and appears on no other major MBA entrance. It is roughly 21 of the 95 questions, and it is not quantitative or verbal work in disguise: the questions present a situation and ask which course of action is soundest, which rewards judgement and consistency rather than calculation. A candidate preparing XAT on CAT material covers Verbal and Quantitative and arrives at Decision Making cold. The two-part timing also matters: Part 1's three sections share 170 minutes with free movement, then General Knowledge gets its own 10 minutes. A wrong answer costs 0.25 against 1.

Part 1 carries about 75 questions across Verbal and Logical Ability, Decision Making, and Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation in 170 minutes; Part 2 is about 20 General Knowledge questions in 10 minutes. XAT does not fix its section sizes in advance, so the per-section counts above are approximate, taken from recent papers rather than a published table. Marking is 1 mark for a correct answer and 0.25 deducted for a wrong one, plus a further 0.10 for each unattempted question after the first eight, a penalty that rewards attempting breadth and that this platform does not model: a blank costs nothing here and something in the real paper.
