The current BV-BTECH 2026 Information Brochure confirms a centre-based, English-medium test of 200 four-option MCQs (Mathematics 80, Physics 60, Chemistry 60) for 200 marks in 180 minutes, one correct/most appropriate answer per question, +1 per correct answer, and no negative marking.

That works out to about 54 seconds per question on average, before any time spent reading instructions or revisiting marked answers. The 3 sections are Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Mathematics carries the most, 80 marks of the 200 or about 40%, against 60 marks for Chemistry. All sections share one composite timer, so you are free to move between them and spend your time where it earns most.
BV-BTECH B.Tech marking scheme
- Each correct answer is worth 1 mark.
- There is no negative marking, so leaving a question blank can only cost you: an unattempted question and a wrong one score the same zero. Attempt everything.
- Worked example: attempt 160 of the 200 questions and get 120 right and 40 wrong, and you score 120 out of 200.
