Timing: Two-part official timer, not one free 150-minute clock: Test I (Core Mathematics and English Language Skills & Logical Reasoning, free navigation between the two) gets a single 45-minute window that auto-submits as a group, followed by a separate 105-minute Computer Science Test II window with no return to Test I afterward..

TakeMockTest combined online practice adaptation for the BITS HD 2026 M.E. Computer Science test pathway (one of several BITS Higher Degree disciplines; only M.E. Computer Science is covered here). BITS Pilani officially conducts Test I (30 questions, 45 minutes: Core Mathematics 15, English Language Skills & Logical Reasoning 15) and Computer Science Test II (70 questions, 105 minutes) as two separate papers; this site combines both into a single online attempt with two locked timing groups and no time borrowing, preserving the two official working windows rather than opening one free 150-minute clock. Every question awards 3 marks for a correct answer and deducts 1 mark for an incorrect answer; an unattempted question scores zero.

The BITS HD BITS HD 2026 M.E. Computer Science exam pattern is 100 questions carrying 300 marks, to be answered in 150 minutes. That works out to about 90 seconds per question on average, before any time spent reading instructions or revisiting marked answers. The 3 sections are Core Mathematics, English Language Skills & Logical Reasoning and Computer Science. All sections share one composite timer, so you are free to move between them and spend your time where it earns most.

BITS HD BITS HD 2026 M.E. Computer Science marking scheme

  • Each correct answer is worth 3 marks.
  • A wrong answer deducts 1 mark; an unattempted question scores zero.
  • A guess therefore breaks even at 25% accuracy: above that it gains you marks on average, below it loses them. That is exactly the 25% a blind guess between four options gives you, so guessing at random is neither gaining nor losing marks over a long paper. The moment you can rule out even one option, it starts paying.
  • Worked example: attempt 80 of the 100 questions and get 60 right and 20 wrong, and you score 160 out of 300.

Practising against the same clock is the point of a mock test: at 90 seconds a question, the difference between a good score and an average one is usually pacing rather than knowledge. Attempt a free BITS HD mock test to see where your time actually goes.
