AP LAWCET is three examinations under one name and this page covers one of them. The 5-Year LL.B. route shown here runs 120 questions in 90 minutes; the 3-Year LL.B. route for graduates and AP PGLCET for LL.M. admission are separate papers with their own shapes, and a candidate who prepares from the wrong one prepares the wrong weighting. Within this route, Aptitude for the Study of Law is half the paper at 60 questions, with General Knowledge and Mental Ability and Current Affairs taking 30 each. Nothing is deducted anywhere, which the official 2026 question-paper preview confirms.

That works out to about 45 seconds per question on average, before any time spent reading instructions or revisiting marked answers. The 3 sections are General Knowledge and Mental Ability, Current Affairs and Aptitude for the Study of Law. Aptitude for the Study of Law carries the most, 60 marks of the 120 or about 50%, against 30 marks for Current Affairs. All sections share one composite timer, so you are free to move between them and spend your time where it earns most.
AP LAWCET 5-Year LL.B. marking scheme
- Each correct answer is worth 1 mark.
- There is no negative marking, so leaving a question blank can only cost you: an unattempted question and a wrong one score the same zero. Attempt everything.
- Worked example: attempt 96 of the 120 questions and get 72 right and 24 wrong, and you score 72 out of 120.
