Mathematics is half this paper and the two sciences share the other half. Eighty questions against 40 each for Physics and Chemistry means an even three-way revision plan gives the deciding subject two thirds of what it is worth. Nothing is deducted for a wrong answer, so a blank and a wrong answer score the same zero and there is no reason to leave one. Three hours across 160 questions leaves 68 seconds each, comfortable enough to reach the end and still sweep back for what is unmarked.

That works out to about 68 seconds per question on average, before any time spent reading instructions or revisiting marked answers. The 3 sections are Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Mathematics carries the most, 80 marks of the 160 or about 50%, against 40 marks for Chemistry. All sections share one composite timer, so you are free to move between them and spend your time where it earns most.
AP EAPCET Engineering marking scheme
- Each correct answer is worth 1 mark.
- There is no negative marking, so leaving a question blank can only cost you: an unattempted question and a wrong one score the same zero. Attempt everything.
- Worked example: attempt 128 of the 160 questions and get 96 right and 32 wrong, and you score 96 out of 160.
