Timing: Single unrestricted 180-minute timer for all three subjects combined, with no sectional lock: candidates may move freely across Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry and use time from any subject anywhere in the test, matching the official CBT's own single continuous timer..

The official AP EAPCET 2026 Engineering CBT has 160 four-option single-correct MCQs for 160 marks in 180 minutes: Mathematics (80 questions), Physics (40 questions), and Chemistry (40 questions), each correct answer worth 1 mark with no negative marking and no deduction for unattempted questions, delivered under one unrestricted timer with no subject locking. This is directly confirmed by the official AP EAPCET 2026 portal, its Engineering Instruction Booklet, its Important CBT Instructions document, and its official 2026 master question papers. TakeMockTest's Full Mock reproduces this exactly: 160 questions in the same 80/40/40 split, one free 180-minute timer, no negative marking. A Mathematics Sectional Practice Test (80 questions) and a combined Physics and Chemistry Sectional Practice Test (80 questions, 40 each) are also available; AP EAPCET does not publish separate official section timers, so their 90-minute timers are TakeMockTest practice settings, not official figures. The official CBT displays every question in both English and Telugu; TakeMockTest's question content is English-only, a disclosed practice adaptation rather than a bilingual reproduction.

The AP EAPCET Engineering exam pattern is 160 questions carrying 160 marks, to be answered in 180 minutes. That works out to about 68 seconds per question on average, before any time spent reading instructions or revisiting marked answers. The 3 sections are Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. All sections share one composite timer, so you are free to move between them and spend your time where it earns most.

AP EAPCET Engineering marking scheme

  • Each correct answer is worth 1 mark.
  • There is no negative marking, so leaving a question blank can only cost you: an unattempted question and a wrong one score the same zero. Attempt everything.
  • Worked example: attempt 128 of the 160 questions and get 96 right and 32 wrong, and you score 96 out of 160.

Practising against the same clock is the point of a mock test: at 68 seconds a question, the difference between a good score and an average one is usually pacing rather than knowledge. Attempt a free AP EAPCET mock test to see where your time actually goes.
