AILET (All India Law Entrance Test)
Logical Reasoning is the largest section on the UG paper at 70 of the 150 questions, ahead of English at 50 and Current Affairs and General Knowledge at 30. That is a heavier reasoning load than most law entrances set, and it is the section that rewards drilling rather than reading. Current Affairs is the part this site does not build, so the practice covers English and Logical Reasoning at the official 5:7 proportion and leaves a fifth of the paper outside it. A wrong answer costs 0.25 against 1, putting break-even at one in five.
The AILET exam pattern below is checked stage by stage, so one stage cannot inherit another stage's scoring rules.

The official AILET UG written test has 150 questions for 150 marks in 2 hours, 1 mark per correct answer and 0.25 marks deducted per wrong answer, across three sections: English Language (50 questions), Logical Reasoning (70 questions), and Current Affairs and General Knowledge (30 questions). This mock covers English and Logical Reasoning only, in the same 5:7 proportion as the official exam: 24 questions (10 English, 14 Logical Reasoning) in 19 minutes. Current Affairs and General Knowledge is not covered, since it depends on facts that carry higher correctness risk for self-authored content.

That works out to about 48 seconds per question on average, before any time spent reading instructions or revisiting marked answers. The 3 sections are English, Logical Reasoning and Current Affairs and General Knowledge. Logical Reasoning carries the most, 70 marks of the 150 or about 47%, against 30 marks for Current Affairs and General Knowledge. All sections share one composite timer, so you are free to move between them and spend your time where it earns most.
AILET English and Logical Reasoning marking scheme
- Each correct answer is worth 1 mark.
- A wrong answer deducts 0.25 marks; an unattempted question scores zero.
- A guess therefore breaks even at 20% accuracy: above that it gains you marks on average, below it loses them. A blind guess between four options is right 25% of the time, which is already above that line, so an educated guess is worth making rather than leaving the question blank.
- Worked example: attempt 120 of the 150 questions and get 90 right and 30 wrong, and you score 82.5 out of 150.

AILET LL.M. (One Year) is a separate offline OMR test from AILET UG, with 100 questions for 100 marks in 2 hours, +1 correct and -0.25 wrong. All 100 questions are newly authored across broad doctrinal branches of law (Constitutional Law, Contract, Torts, Criminal Law, Administrative Law, Jurisprudence, Public International Law, Property Law, Family Law, Company Law, Environmental Law, Intellectual Property, Evidence, Civil Procedure, and Alternative Dispute Resolution), each applying a stated legal principle to a self-contained scenario rather than requiring memorised case names, section numbers, or dates, the same safety property as CLAT PG's resolved format. This resolves an earlier rejection of AILET LL.M. in this project's history, which had assumed the paper explicitly tests LLB-level legal-knowledge recall with no safe reasoning-only format available.
