Timing: One 120-minute composite timer covers all 100 questions with free navigation; there is no sectional lock..

This is the common B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing entrance paper for participating AIIMS; the Post-Basic and Allied/Paramedical papers are separate and are not covered here. Each correct answer earns 1 mark and each wrong answer deducts one-third of a mark; an unanswered question scores zero. The official paper is set in English and Hindi; this mock is English only. General Knowledge here is restricted to stable, evergreen facts: current-affairs questions are deliberately not written, which is a TakeMockTest content-risk rule rather than an AIIMS one. The 30/30/30/10 shell is consistent across the current AIIMS prospectus surface and the prior official prospectus; re-check the current prospectus before relying on it for a live attempt.

The AIIMS BSc Nursing B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing Entrance exam pattern is 100 questions carrying 100 marks, to be answered in 120 minutes. That works out to about 72 seconds per question on average, before any time spent reading instructions or revisiting marked answers. The 4 sections are Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Knowledge. All sections share one composite timer, so you are free to move between them and spend your time where it earns most.

AIIMS BSc Nursing B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing Entrance marking scheme

  • Each correct answer is worth 1 mark.
  • A wrong answer deducts 0.3333333333333333 marks; an unattempted question scores zero.
  • A guess therefore breaks even at 25% accuracy: above that it gains you marks on average, below it loses them. That is exactly the 25% a blind guess between four options gives you, so guessing at random is neither gaining nor losing marks over a long paper — the moment you can rule out even one option, it starts paying.
  • Worked example: attempt 80 of the 100 questions and get 60 right and 20 wrong, and you score 53.33 out of 100.

Practising against the same clock is the point of a mock test: at 72 seconds a question, the difference between a good score and an average one is usually pacing rather than knowledge. Attempt a free AIIMS BSc Nursing mock test to see where your time actually goes.
