Amrita Engineering Entrance Examination 2026: B.Tech
Two of the five sections are not science at all. Quantitative Aptitude takes 10 questions and English 5, which is 15 of the 100 questions and 45 of the 300 marks, and a candidate preparing AEEE as a pure PCM paper walks straight past them. They are also the cheapest marks in it, needing no chapter revision to collect. Mathematics is the largest section at 40 questions. One caveat about the topic labels inside these tests: Amrita publishes section names and a State Board and CBSE scope without an exhaustive chapter list, so the granular topics are a preparation map built here rather than an official syllabus.

AEEE 2026 is a Computer Based Test. Each correct answer earns 3 marks and each incorrect answer deducts 1 mark; an unanswered question scores zero. That works out to about 90 seconds per question on average, before any time spent reading instructions or revisiting marked answers. The 5 sections are Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Quantitative Aptitude and English. Mathematics carries the most, 120 marks of the 300 or about 40%, against 15 marks for English. All sections share one composite timer, so you are free to move between them and spend your time where it earns most.
AEEE B.Tech marking scheme
- Each correct answer is worth 3 marks.
- A wrong answer deducts 1 mark; an unattempted question scores zero.
- A guess therefore breaks even at 25% accuracy: above that it gains you marks on average, below it loses them. That is exactly what a blind guess between four options returns, so guessing at random neither gains nor loses marks over a long paper. The moment you can rule out even one option, it starts paying.
- Worked example: attempt 80 of the 100 questions and get 60 right and 20 wrong, and you score 160 out of 300.
