Fourteen of these 57 questions carry no penalty at all. The numerical-answer questions earn 4 marks with nothing deducted for a wrong entry, which makes them the one block where an uncertain attempt is strictly better than a blank; the 15 multiple-select questions award up to 4 with their own partial-credit rules, and the 28 multiple-choice questions are where a wrong answer actually costs. So the attempt decision is per question type rather than per paper. Part A gets 120 of the exam's 180 minutes, with the remaining 60 going to the hand-marked Part B sketching paper, which is compulsory in the real exam and not covered here.

Part A only. Part B is a sketching and design-aptitude paper marked by hand, so it is not covered here, and it is compulsory in the real exam. Marking differs by question type: 14 numerical-answer questions earn 4 marks with no penalty, 15 multiple-select questions earn up to 4 marks with partial credit and deduct 1 mark otherwise, and 28 multiple-choice questions earn 3 marks and deduct 0.71. The official syllabus covers visualization and spatial reasoning, practical and scientific knowledge, observation and design sensitivity, environment and society, analytical and logical reasoning, language, and creativity.
