Frequently asked questions
Is this an official RRB NTPC question paper?
No. It is an independent practice mock containing original questions mapped to the official RRB NTPC CBT 1 syllabus and pattern.
Is there a separate timer for each CBT 1 section?
No. Unlike SSC CGL, RRB NTPC CBT 1 uses a single 90-minute timer for all three sections combined, with no sectional lock: you can move between Mathematics, Reasoning, and General Awareness questions freely.
Do CBT 1 marks count towards the final RRB NTPC merit list?
No. CBT 1 is qualifying in nature: its marks are not carried forward. The final merit list is decided by CBT 2.
Is there negative marking in RRB NTPC CBT 1?
Yes. A correct answer earns 1 mark, and a wrong answer deducts one-third (0.333) of a mark. Unattempted questions score zero.
Does RRB NTPC CBT 1 use normalization across shifts?
Yes, when CBT 1 runs across multiple shifts, RRB normalizes each candidate's raw score to account for difficulty differences between shifts, so someone in a harder shift isn't disadvantaged against someone in an easier one. This mock scores your raw marks directly, since normalization depends on the actual shift-wide difficulty spread on exam day, which no practice test can reproduce.
