RRB JE (Junior Engineer) Mock Test 2026

A free RRB JE mock test series covering both computer-based stages of Junior Engineer recruitment. The RRB JE CBT 1 mock test is 100 questions in 90 minutes. The RRB JE CBT 2 mock test is 150 questions in 120 minutes, dominated by branch-specific technical work. Every RRB JE online test here is free to attempt.

CBT 1 is common to every JE, DMS and CMA discipline, so everyone sits the same paper. CBT 2 is not. Its Technical Abilities section alone is 100 of the 150 questions, and those questions are specific to your engineering branch. That is the shift worth planning for: general preparation carries you through CBT 1, and branch depth decides CBT 2. Both stages deduct one third of a mark for a wrong answer, so the guessing maths is the same in each. The RRB JE test series is split by stage for that reason.

RRB Junior Engineer exam pattern

CBT 1

Official CEN No. 05/2025 pattern
Questions: 100
Marks: 100
Duration: 90 minutes

Mathematics · General Intelligence and Reasoning · General Awareness · General Science. Negative marking: 0.333 per wrong answer. Single 90-minute timer for all four sections combined (no sectional lock)..

CBT 1 is a common screening test across all JE, DMS, and CMA posts. The CBT is followed by a 2nd Stage CBT (branch-specific technical questions), then Document Verification and a Medical Examination.

CBT 2

Official CEN No. 05/2025 pattern
Questions: 150
Marks: 150
Duration: 120 minutes

Technical Abilities · General Awareness · Physics and Chemistry · Basics of Computers and Applications · Basics of Environment and Pollution Control. Negative marking: 0.333 per wrong answer. Single composite 120-minute timer for the entire paper: no sectional lock, you can move between sections freely..

CBT 2 is a single, continuous 150-question, 120-minute-timed Computer Based Test with no sectional lock. Unlike CBT 1, which is common to every JE/DMS/CMA discipline, CBT 2's dominant Technical Abilities section (100 of the 150 questions) is branch-specific: JE recruits across several engineering disciplines (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, and others, varying by cycle), while DMS and CMA each have their own distinct, non-engineering technical syllabus. This site currently covers the Civil and Mechanical Technical Abilities syllabi only; other JE disciplines and the DMS/CMA syllabi are not yet built. The four non-technical sections (General Awareness, Physics and Chemistry, Basics of Computers and Applications, Basics of Environment and Pollution Control) are common across every discipline. General Awareness (15Q) is not built, since it needs current, fact-checked content rather than stable engineering/science fundamentals; the other three non-technical sections, being stable and definitional, are built once and shared across both Civil and Mechanical mocks.

Frequently asked questions

How many RRB Junior Engineer mock tests are available here?

This page currently has 22 syllabus-checked tests for RRB Junior Engineer: 6 full-length mocks, and 16 sectional tests.

Are these RRB Junior Engineer tests based on the official pattern?

Yes. Each checked test's question count, marks, duration, and negative marking match the official pattern shown above, with its source and checked date linked.

How long does a RRB Junior Engineer mock test take?

A full-length RRB Junior Engineer mock here runs 90 to 108 minutes, matching the official working time for the paper it reproduces. The timer starts when you begin and the test submits itself when time runs out, so it is worth starting one only when you can sit it through. The shorter tests on this page run from 8 minutes, for when you do not have a full sitting free.

Do these RRB Junior Engineer mock tests have negative marking?

Yes. Every RRB Junior Engineer test here deducts 0.333 marks for a wrong answer and scores an unanswered question zero, the same as the official scheme it is checked against. Your result breaks out what the deduction cost you, so you can see whether guessing helped or hurt.

Should I start with a full-length RRB Junior Engineer mock or a sectional test?

Start with a full-length mock if you have not sat the whole RRB Junior Engineer paper under its official timer before: it is the only thing here that tells you whether you can finish in time. Move to the 16 sectional tests once the full mock has shown you which section is costing you marks, and use them to rebuild that one section rather than re-sitting the whole paper each time.

Are these RRB Junior Engineer mock tests free?

Yes. All 22 RRB Junior Engineer tests on this page are free to attempt, with no account and no paid tier holding back better questions.
