Frequently asked questions
Is this an official CAT question paper?
No. It is an independent practice mock containing original questions mapped to the official CAT syllabus.
Does a CAT score directly decide IIM admission, or does something else matter too?
The CAT percentile only gets you shortlisted. Final IIM admission also weighs Written Ability Test and Personal Interview performance, academic record, and work experience, which vary by institute.
How is the CAT score converted into a percentile?
CAT is held across multiple sessions, or slots, each with a different question set. Raw scores are normalised across slots before being converted to a percentile, so a percentile is comparable across the whole candidate pool even though the actual questions differ by slot.
What is the CAT negative marking scheme for this mock?
MCQs carry -1 for a wrong answer, matching the official CAT scheme. Numeric-entry (TITA) questions carry no penalty for a wrong answer, since they cannot be guessed from options the way MCQs can.
