SSC JE Paper I vs Paper II: What This Site Covers
General Engineering is in both papers, 100 marks of Paper I and all 300 of Paper II. That is why a Paper I mock here covers half of Paper I.
SSC JE recruits Junior Engineers across Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical disciplines through two Computer-Based papers worth 500 marks between them, and discipline-specific General Engineering runs through both. Paper I is 200 questions for 200 marks: General Intelligence and Reasoning and General Awareness at 50 questions each, plus General Engineering at 100. Paper II is 100 questions for 300 marks, General Engineering only. So this site does not cover Paper I either, strictly speaking. Why Paper II isn't built here
A Civil & Structural candidate's General Engineering paper covers building materials, surveying, and structural analysis. An Electrical candidate's covers circuit theory and machines. A Mechanical candidate's covers thermodynamics and strength of materials. These are not variations on one shared technical core; they are three separate professional syllabi that happen to share a paper name. Building one generic "General Engineering" mock would mean covering one discipline accurately while silently misrepresenting the other two, which this site avoids the same way it avoids RRB Paramedical's post-specific Professional Ability section.
What Paper I actually tests
Only two of Paper I's three parts are common to every discipline: General Intelligence and Reasoning and General Awareness, 50 questions each. Those 100 questions are what this site builds, and the mock-test page states that coverage on the test itself rather than leaving you to infer it. The notice sets 120 minutes for the whole of Paper I and does not publish per-part times, so treat the composite timer as the working assumption rather than an established rule. Since both papers are normalized and combined for the final merit list, a strong score on these two sections genuinely matters; it is worth being clear-eyed that they are 100 of the 500 total marks.
