The chart below shows the percent of men and women who caused motor vehicle accidents in three time periods.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

Sample answer:

The chart shows how many women and men caused accidents on the roads in the years 2015-2017. The numbers are given in percentages. From this chart we can see that in 2015, 63% of accidents were caused by men. In the same year 37% of accidents were caused by women. The next year shows an increase of men who caused accidents. In 2016  82% of accidents were caused by men. Consequently we see a fall in the percentage of women that caused accidents in that year (18%). In the year 2017 the chart shows a 10% drop in the number of accidents caused by men. They caused 72% of accidents on the road in that year. Finally the chart shows a 10% increase in the number of accidents caused by women for the year 2017 (28%). All in all we see the biggest in accidents caused by men in 2016 and respectfully the lowest number caused by women in that year.

In the  world we live in today, old age is not something that is very attractive.  Everything on television and in shops is for young people. Ads are created to be attractive not to seniors but to young people. Employers  don’t hire people who are retired or near retirement, they prefer young workers who can work more hours and faster. Employers in my opinion don’t look at experience but most of all how many years they can use this person for. A young employee especially one who is just starting their career can be more easily manipulated than a very mature worker who knows their worth and usually has got more experience than the employer.  I think seniors havelost the respect they had in the past in our society. There is a lot of complaining about older people. People say they just go to the doctor or church and that they are not very interesting.  Young people treat them as something irritating and just taking up space especially on public transport. I don’t think that they realize how quickly time passes and before they know it they will be seniors or nearing retirement age. They don’t seem to remember that everyone has got a story to tell and seniors usualy have a very interesting one. I do believe, however, that there are people who greatly value the experience and wisdom of older people such as their grandparents or other elders around them. Seniors can serve as a very important role. For example they can teach the younger generation from their experience. This unfortunately is sometimes difficult because they feel isolated and not wanted so move away from people, start to only spend time with people their age and that’s not  beneficial for either them or the younger generations.
