Sample Answer

Dear Sir or Madame,

I am a teacher at one of the primary schools in the city. I noticed your advert about Boo At The Zoo and I would like to take my class to this event. If you could answer some of my questions that would be very helpful. The advert says that there is a special offer for groups. Could you tell me how much it would cost? I would be taking 20 students who are 10 years old. I have never been to Boo at the Zoo so I don’t know what attractions to expect. Could you tell me what the kids will see there? I am also wondering if a guide is available for groups. Is there an employee who could show the children something special? Maybe they could tell my students about the animals they see. I hope you can answer my questions. I hope to hear from you soon.

Best Regards,

Write about the following topic:

More and more young people are living at home with their parents after they reach adulthood. In your opinion is it acceptable for young people to still with their parents after they had finished school and got a job.

Write at least 250 words.

Sample answer

In the past, even 20 years ago, young people couldn’t wait to turn 18 and start living on their own or go off to university as far away from their parents as possible. Times have changed, however, and the trend has been reversed. Living at home with parents after reaching adulthood is not something uncommon any more, and more and more people are doing it. I don’t think it is a positive trend, that young people keep living with their parents after they finished school, found a job and are able to start their own independent life.

There are situations when young people just don’t earn enough money and they cannot afford to live on their own. Many of these young people who continue living at home after reaching adulthood are in this situation. They have an education, even a  stable job but it is not enough to afford life on their own. On the other hand, I think if someone really wants to move out they can always find a roommate and share the bills and rent. Therefore, I understand those people, they don’t really have a choice, but in my opinion there is always something that can be done if you really want it.

However, I can’t agree with young people who keep living at home because it is more convenient. How are they going to learn to be independent if their mum or dad cooks for them every day, washes their clothes, even cleans up after them. That, in my view, is pure laziness and it is up to the parents to put a stop to it. There is a time for living at home and there is a time to grow up and take responsibility for your life and future.
